This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to nikhilkalia.com and to enquiries made through it.
Who is responsible
This site is operated by Nikhil Kalia, an independent web designer, developer and SEO consultant based in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. For any question about your data, contact design@nikhilkalia.com.
What is collected
Information you send me. If you use the enquiry form, email me, or message me on WhatsApp, I receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, email address, phone number, website and a description of your project.
Analytics data. This site uses Google Analytics, which collects information about how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
Server logs. The hosting provider records standard technical information including IP address and request times, as part of running and securing the server.
I do not buy personal data, and I do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Why it is collected

- To raise invoices and keep the records required for tax and accounting
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To keep the site secure and functioning
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish between visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them. Google provides a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics entirely, and browser-level tracking protection also works.
Third parties involved
Running this site and my business means a small number of services necessarily process data:
- Hosting — Hostinger, which hosts this website and its server logs
- Analytics — Google Analytics
- Email — the provider handling design@nikhilkalia.com
- Payments — for client work, the method we agree on, which may include Wise, Payoneer or bank transfer. Payment details are handled by those providers, not stored on this site
For project work I may also be given access to systems you control, such as your website, hosting, analytics or Search Console. That access is used only for the agreed work and returned or revoked when it is no longer needed.
How long data is kept
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years, in case you come back. Client project records and invoices are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings.
Where data goes
I am based in India and work with clients in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and elsewhere. This means your information may be processed in India and by service providers operating in other countries.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Tell you what information I hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your information, where I am not required to keep it
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
- Provide a copy of it
Email design@nikhilkalia.com and I will respond within thirty days. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This is a business site and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date below.
